A Note from Pastor Richard Reams:
We have a growing LGBTQ community within the church and are currently exploring what services/activities/programs are desired or needed. Much to our dismay and pain, the UMC has chosen not to recognize the gifts and callings of LGBTQ people through ordination. But, we are a congregation that is actively against the current stance and are working to change it. As such, the church is technically not allowed to marry LGBTQ people according to our Denomination’s stance. We wholeheartedly disagree. And though we have not performed or participated in a wedding on campus, it is not out of the question if a family/couple has made this their church and that is their sincere desire.
